Marilyn Funderburk

Marilyn Funderburk joined SFI as a Senior Event Manager after serving as the Founder and President of EMCEE International Inc., a minority woman-owned special events company. She has managed events for some of Washington’s most prestigious special evenings and occurrences as well as continues to volunteer her expertise for numerous charity organizations.

During the administration of President Jimmy Carter, Funderburk served as the Deputy Social Secretary to The White House. In this capacity, she planned and executed a wide variety of events from small private dinners held in the family quarters to political briefings and receptions, State Dinners, and Pope John Paul II’s visit to the South Lawn of the White House attended by over 5,000 people. She is currently on the board of the Recreation Wish List Committee which raises money to provide equipment to recreation centers in the neediest areas of Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart in Purchase, New York.
